Feeding Raw with Little Lu

For the first two months, Lulu was initially eating puppy cereal. We tried many brands including Royal Canin Golden Retriever, James Wellbeloved, Wainwrights Turkey and Rice but she refused to eat them, and when she did, she would have bad reactions to them. Her fur was also pretty rough and she was losing a lot of weight because of the hunger strikes.

From the time Lulu was four-months-old, we decided to switch her to raw food. Immediately, we noticed a change in her fur. It turned from rough to incredibly silky and fluffy. She has no body odour and her teeth are always pearly-white. She is also very lean and muscular because of it (and the two-hours daily exercise, of course), and she poos very little because she is absorbing all of the nutrients from her diet.

It’s totally understandable that some of you may not want to feed your dog raw meat, as it does take a lot of freezer space and can be pretty pricey, (we pay approximately £60 a month for our subscription). Currently, for Lulu’s weight, we order 16kg every 30 days and it works out perfectly. Bella and Duke calculate the exact amount you should be feeding your dog daily based on their body shape (if they need to gain or lose weight), their current weight, age and breed. They have numerous options for meat minces and will replace any minces with others if your dog has any allergies. They even have a superfood range that has added supplements so that you don’t need to add them in yourself. They have a raw dry-food range if you want to save up on freezer space and money, but still reap the benefits of feeding raw.

You can order a trial or subscription from Bella and Duke on their website https://www.bellaandduke.com . If you do decide to use Bella and Duke, you can create an account for each of your dogs and it will calculate the frequency of deliveries based on the amount you feed (so you never run out or have a stuffed freezer). You can use my referral code, 9ynt36 , to save £10 on your first order. Happy eating!
