The hikes

Broadway and the tower

A beautiful, circular four-mile hike up to the Broadway tower. There are gated areas where there are farmed sheep, so your dog will definitely have to be on-the-lead. We had Lulu on a gentle leader to prevent her from pulling us. Other than that, there are fields where your dog can be off-lead and running free. There are sections of steep, muddy areas so be wary and make sure to wear good, steady hiking shoes, especially in the winter. You may need hiking poles during the wetter months as it can be quite difficult without them.

SHEEP? Yes, in fenced areas where you will be walking through.

STEEP? In some areas.

SLIPPERY? No.

OFF-LEAD? For the majority, yes.

SPOTS FOR SWIMMING? No.

CROWD? Not much at all (in the winter).

MUDDY? No.

cleeve hill

A stunning hike with two different paths near a golf course on Cleeve Hill. There are no sheep, so your dog can be off-lead, just be careful when you are near the golf course for flying golf balls. There are some steep sections but it is overall quite manageable. If you decide to do the shorter walk, it is maximum 2 hours long while the other is much longer. There are some gorgeous views, so take advantage of this to capture some pretty pictures.

SHEEP? No.

STEEP? Slightly.

SLIPPERY? No.

OFF-LEAD? Yes, except for the golf course area.

SPOTS FOR SWIMMING? No.

CROWD? Not much at all (in the winter).

MUDDY? No.

A brilliant little town that is incredibly dog-friendly. They have their own pink door just like Chelsea, London. I highly recommend coming here and stopping by Archie’s of Cheltenham for a nice dog-friendly coffee.

best eats

the feathered nest

100 percent the BEST dog-friendly restaurant we’ve ever been to. The Feathered Nest is completely dog-friendly, just call ahead and make sure they seat you in the pub-section of the restaurant. It is perfect for a delicious, formal meal. Every dish was absolutely exquisite and so memorable. It is slightly pricey but perfect for a special occasion. We are planning to drive back to the Cotswolds just to eat at The Feathered Nest!

archie’s of cheltenham

A quaint, dog-oriented coffee shop with an adorable pet store in the basement. They sell all sorts of treats and desserts for both you and your dog. It is perfect for every pet-lover and your dog will certainly enjoy a visit here. The coffee, teas and cakes for the humans were also absolutely amazing, I highly recommend making the trip here if you come to Cheltenham.

Lords of the Manor restaurant

If you do decide to stay at the Lords of the Manor hotel, I highly recommend coming to this restaurant for a delicious, fancy meal. It is quite expensive but the meal is totally worth it for a special occasion. The rooms are also pretty close by so you can always go and check on your pup during dinner if you are worried.

Daylesford

Dogs are not allowed in the shop, but they are allowed in the restaurant. I highly recommend stopping by here for a delicious lunch on your way home to London. The food is super fresh as all the ingredients are sourced at the farm itself.

A super picturesque, cozy dog-friendly hotel in Upper Slaughter. Everywhere in the hotel is completely dog-friendly (except the formal restaurant). They were super accommodating with Lulu’s raw food and also gave us treats, a bed and some food for Lulu as apart of the welcome package. The concierge was really helpful and kind with recommending our walks. There are also tons of trails just from the hotel, and some minutes away that are perfect for you to go on.
