Seven Sisters in Seaford

These are seven beautiful cliffs by the sea about 1.5 to 2 hours away from London. Dogs can be off-lead before beginning the cliff-walk but we kept Lulu on the lead once reaching the cliffs as there are sudden, dangerous drops. We had her on an extendable leash as the hills themselves were quite wide with a lot of space for them to run and explore. The walk is a steep, 10 miles round-trip.

SHEEP? Yes, but fenced away. There are clear signs for areas of livestock, though there were some spots where the sheep jumped the fence.

STEEP? Very.

SLIPPERY? No, but it can be after some rain.

OFF-LEAD? Partly, before and after the cliff walk.

SPOTS FOR SWIMMING? Yes, on the pebble beach before starting the cliff-walk. There are many streams on the walk over and before the beach on the left for swimming.

CROWD? Variable. Quite quiet in the winter but it can be a little crowded in the summer months.

MUDDY? Not at all on the cliffs but there was a little bit of mud towards the end of the walk.

We parked at the Cuckmere Inn: Exceat Bridge, Cuckmere Haven, Seaford BN25 4AB

We did the opposite of the directions on the National Trust site: we began with Cuckmere and walked on the South Downs trail towards the Seven Sisters. When reaching the beach, we turned left and began walking up and down all seven of the cliffs. After reaching the National Trust Birling Gap Café to take a short break, we turned around and followed the directions on the National Trust site.
