Brighton & Hove
We took a chance with the weather and tried this walk on an overcast, stormy day. It really worked out as there was little crowd and the rain didn’t come until the evening when we left. This walk is an absolute gorgeous tour of Brighton and its seaside. We recommend you park in a side road before the promenade of huts. We used the postal code: BN3 2WA and found a residential side-road with pay-by-phone parking. You can start your walk along the promenade with the huts. Because of COVID-19, only some of the beaches are dog-friendly, so check out the signs for that. Keep walking along the water and promenade to see the main attractions like the I360, the old Brighton pier, the bandstand, upside down house and the new pier. We continued our walk along the road, through some shopping and grocery areas to the marina to see the boats, and turned around and went back. In total, it was a gorgeous, mostly off-lead 15K walk. Towards the end of the walk, we ate at the Regency seafood restaurant. Because of COVID-19, its takeaway only and the food came really fast. Their fish and chips & grilled garlic king prawns were our favourites!
SHEEP? No.
STEEP? No.
SLIPPERY? Some pebbles might be a little wet near the shore.
OFF-LEAD? In parts. The promenade is really wide but not gated away from the road. Your dog can be off-lead in the dog beaches (which are labelled). After the pier towards the marina, the sidewalk is really wide and quiet with barely any cars, but just be careful for an occasional car.
SPOTS FOR SWIMMING? Yes, if your dog is not afraid of waves.
CROWD? Variable. Really busy on hot sunny days but we visited on a cloudy-stormy day in the summer.
MUDDY? No.
